INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT TREATMENT (IOPT) PROGRAMS
The Curran-Seeley Foundation provides three separate intensive outpatient treatment programs: Adult Men, Adult Women, and Adolescents. Group sessions are held every day, Monday through Friday.
- Programs include a family member or significant other component, giving family members and significant others the opportunity to participate weekly in the services provided.
- Individual and family therapy sessions available as needed and upon request. All clients are required to complete individual and/or family therapy sessions.
- Strict attendance policy requires any absences to be made up, so that the minimum amount of treatment received is 220 hours.
- Minimum of eight hours individual counseling is provided to each client, with additional counsel- ing on an "as needed" basis.
- Minimum of one Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or outside support group meeting per week.
In addition to work based on the twelve-step philosophy, Curran-Seeley programs include training and assistance in social and life skills such as anger management, stress management, dealing with grief and loss, and avoiding relapse. Daily living techniques, better nutrition, relaxation methods, understanding and improving sleep habits, spiritual development, and other important areas are covered.
Except in special cases, clients are expected to be employed while in treatment. The program and its requirements effectively fill the clients' days while they are in treatment, yet allows them time for family, hobbies and relaxation on weekends.

INTERVENTION SERVICES
Interventions are usually called upon as last hope measures for someone that has a chronic, abusive relationship with an addictive substance such as drugs or alcohol. If this addiction is allowed to continue, the chances of the individual dying or facing irreversible problems is almost inevitable. Making the decision to get help for a loved one is accompanied with the fear that the individual will be angry or feel betrayed. But one must stop and think what is more important, helping someone you love or standing by watching them fade away.
Curran-Seeley provides the professional services needed to educate, guide and support those wishing to help someone who doesn't want help. Educational materials on the disease concept, with a special emphasis on the family's role, are provided. Steps to a possible family intervention are offered. We work with the family at their pace to help them become familiar with the options available to assist their loved one to get treatment. Support is offered, with an emphasis for them to attend Alanon.
VIOLENCE PREVENTION (English or Spanish)
The Men's Violence Prevention is a 26-session program for men having trouble with, or convicted of, family violence, domestic abuse, or power and control issues. Sessions are held once a week with a varied curriculum. Abstinence from the use of all alcohol and drugs while in this program is mandatory. Education as to the part alcohol and drug abuse plays in domestic violence is included in the curriculum.
COUNSELING FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILY OR EMPLOYERS
